• Work Experience for Veterinary Students at Gilcar Farm

Here at Gilcar Farm, not all of our guests spend their visits relaxing in our luxury holiday cottages - some of them come to actually work on the dairy farm.

We currently have extra pairs of hands helping out in the form of some veterinary students undertaking voluntary work experience.

Volunteering on a working farm is a great way for aspiring vets to find out what it is like to work with animals and what sort of challenges they may face in their chosen career.

What they learn during their time here is also likely to be invaluable in terms of securing places on courses and future work placements, as competition in the sector is fierce, and having some hands-on experience is a good way to stand out from the crowd.
