Gilcar Farm holiday cottages, in the peaceful countryside of Emley in Huddersfield, are a great place to stay for people attending weddings in the West Yorkshire area.

The county’s wonderful scenery, together with its range of historic churches and country houses - such as Bagden Hall, Nostell Priory, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Holdsworth House - has made it a popular location for weddings.

But it’s also the area’s attractions that mean many family members and wedding guests decide to combine going to the ceremony and reception with a holiday or long weekend.

Booking a stay at one of Gilcar Farm’s luxury holiday cottages gives visitors to West Yorkshire the perfect base from which to explore the rugged local countryside. The farm is also located within easy travelling distance of cultural attractions such as the Royal Armouries Museum and Hepworth Gallery, while families can enjoy a day out at Lightwater Valley Theme Park.

The area has some fun local events too, including August’s Emley Show and Huddersfield Food & Drink Festival, and September’s Holmfirth Food & Drink Festival. A real must-see occasion is set to take place on Sunday July 6th 2014 when Stage 2 of Le Tour de France makes its way through Huddersfield and Holmfirth before the cyclists tackle the climb of Holme Moss.

Gilcar Farm is also ideal for people attending weddings who may have a disability, as the holiday accommodation has been designed for wheelchair access. Two of the cottages have widened doors, downstairs bedrooms and wet rooms equipped with Doc-M packs.
