Gilcar farm is a successful working dairy farm, located in the lush countryside of emley near Huddersfield. The farm has been owned by the same family for three generations.

Gilcar Farm Holiday Cottages are located across a scenic country lane from the working farm. Although you can still enjoy the sheep, cute calves, as well as the mums to be, that are enjoying the lavish fields adjacent to the cottages. Guests at Gilcar Farm can help feed the animals, the calves are especially popular with children.

At Gilcar Farm we pride ourselves on giving our livestock the best care possible, and that is why we now use fibreglass hutches.

The hutches have many benefits including, very good mobility so they can be easily maneuvered. Using fibreglass even allows the hutches to be aesthetically pleasing. Another important factor is that fibreglass also absorbs sound waves, which gives the animals lots of peace and quiet, this is very good for the animals welfare.
